Oh the suspense is killing me! I have my suspicions but shy away from publishing them as I'm probably wrong...Hmmm, I wonder, I'm going to do some research!
I love it!

Hottie is right! And I like his understated winter wear. The fur is so discreet.

I'm not as up on my Francotramps as I am on my Anglotramps, so I have a very limited pool to choose from. Based on his style of dress/wig, maybe he crossed paths with du Barry, early in her career. Feel free to laugh openly--it was a stab in the dark.

(I think I have that portrait of him in a costume book somewhere, but I guess that would be cheating :)

Oh, do tell us!
All i'm sure about is that the painter is Drouais and that i wish to lock mouths with the subject.

Haha! He's now my desktop wallpaper and looks mighty good there too.

He looks a bit like the young Baron de Besenval, but I'm not completely sure about it. And I really don't know whether or not the baron was Garbrielle's lover.

Greetings, Tinka ; )
