I wanted to share a set of photographs by photographer Bernard
Tartinville. His images for this set were inspired by the (well it is obvious...) 18th century! I just love them! The style, settings, hair and accessories used for these shots are just stunning! They just need some gilt frames and a posh wall to hang on. What do you think of them?>To view the full set of images go to his website at www.bernardtartinville.com -Click to Enter, then -Click FASHION. It is the first set of photographs! (you wont miss the poufs!)

WOW, WOW, WOW! Thank you for sharing...they are absolutely exquisite!! The close up shot towards the end of the slideshow is stunning.
Stunning! Bravo, M. Tartinville! I'd like to add my "thank you for sharing."
*echoes the other commenters* Jaw-droppingly beautiful, thanks for the link!
I would love to do a shoot like this one day.
Amazing- the photos ae splendid making them look almost like paintings...surreal
Incredibly inspring! Ahhh if I could only dress like this! Thank you for sharing!

Lauren--you are a shockingly lazy writer. You simply fill your blog with the writings, art, and music of other people. Meanwhile, by putting links to Lush and such you can sit back and make money.
How sad! Do you feel fulfilled this way? You don't even bother to use quotations. Do you have a clue as to what a serious breach of ethics this is??
Obviously you know little about writing. A true author would cringe to 'write' as you do.
*Complain all you like about my posting anonymously. It isn't me who is amassing monies by grifting. There is no other way to describe it.
I will complain about you commenting anonymously, you coward! Have the guts to put a name to your insanely immature comments. Shame on you. If you hate her blog so much stop visiting it.
Actually, "Heather," you and Lauren are amazingly and mysteriously similar. Writing styles, everything. Both blogs are nothing but a compilation of the words, music, and art of other people, (whom are NOT always credited.) Both contain a shamefully long list of links to merchants. That IS grifting. Benefit from the work of others, while sitting back and profiting IS grifting.
Heather/Lauren--what is your problem with quoting Burke properly? Many will assume the words are yours--the portrait is his. You're the one who should be ashamed!! Grifter! You're no author!
These comments will not remain as I do not feel they are constructive to have here.
@Anonymous: Over the past 2 days you have left several rude comments on this blog. I welcome constructive criticism here and encourage readers to comment, however you have been insulting and increasingly rude. Please refrain from leaving such comments here as they are not welcome.
You are wrong to assume I sit back and profit from this blog, the furthest thing from it. You have seen that there are many posts about people, art, and things here as this is the intended content. If I post a link to a product I love, it is just that.
Clearly you do not care for this blog, therefore I understand fully that you will not be a returning visitor.
I should clarify why I would deem to say you are likely one and the same.
Little do you know that you have offended more than one author. Oh yes, you have no idea. You would pale if you knew one in particular. You have clearly ransacked her book, and shorn it for your own purposes. You were not certain about one particular posting, were you? But you went ahead and posted anyway. You would also cringe to know that several of the merchants are actually ashamed to be associated with your blog. It is so obvious how little you know about the society that you 'write' of.
Through linking ad nauseum to others who are true intellects, and whose words probably fly over your head usually, you try to steal a little of their talents.
Do you realize that not ALL of the bloggers care to be associated with your TeenBeat type blog??
Of course you would erase my comments! How cowardly! A TRUE author can take criticism.
If you are an author who I have associated content with and care to be removed please feel free to email me or let me know and I would certainly remove the link.
You're a bit late for that, Darling. At a certain convention the author was accused to taking material from YOU Heather/Lauren. It is very confusing, especially when people are used to the fast food quality of blogs like yours.
It is a simple thing to provide references AND to use quotations. Most people have been taught that as children.
Go ahead and hide behind your blog, which IS an anonymous blog. I do wonder what is the actual revenue from your twin blogs. Must be nice to make money as you sleep, as they say.
You're the coward, ANONYMOUS. Stop being a Troll and get a life. The difference between Lauren and I is she'll still be civil to you and I won't.
Heather, you have made posts that techically, would qualify as plagiarism. Take care to avoid acting too vile with those whose identities are unknown to you. You could be slapped with a lawsuit as an autumnal present. Think not that you are anonymous behind Blogger. They will most certainly provide necessary identifying information in the event of a lawsuit.
Please contact me personally about your issue MarieAntoinetteGossip at gmail.com
@ Anonymous:
I know both these ladies personally and niether are living as richly as the ladies they write about. Not even close.
I applaud their constant effort to bring light to their favorite subjects in a playful manner. Not EVERYTHING has to be serious and churchlike. The 18th century certainly wasn't.
To capture a regular audience on something that only give them pleasure to research, is something to take pride in.
It is clear that your accusations have no standing otherwise you'd release the details of your "convention", your "angry author" and all the others so proudly (through the internet while shielding your name) speak for. Look at you, such a maverick!!
Hahaha. If anyone was really angry they wouldn't be getting stupid comments from a spammer. Get real. No one is taking you seriously.
And Heather and Laurens blog match in style because they are sister sites you moron, lol. That's the point!
"Carolyn," you ARE Heather. You've tipped your hand in more than one way.
Only the most fool-hearty fight with a stranger.
Anonymous, get a life. I'm a lawyer and I've never seen anything that was not clearly credited to the source on both Heather and Lauren's blogs.
If you had a real claim, you'd use your name.
Lauren, you've been really polite and gracious in your responses. I'm impressed.
Tulip, your "defense" doesn't fly. Because you too, are anonymous. Lawyer, I think not. Nice try, Heather/Carolyn/Lauren/Tulip.
You certainly try, though, Tulip.
okay, my name is Amina Mirza and I was admitted to the NY state bar in 2004. Look it up if you want. It's public information.
What's your name, Anonymous? Come on out of the dark and admit who you are. Perhaps then you can get some resolution for all your bile.
Actually I'm not Heather, I'm Carolyn. Now you're running out of games to play it seems... Are you getting upset, poor baby? No one's taking your little fake threats seriously?? Aw.... Do you have your pouty face on? Are you going to anonymously beat us up? All our 4 bodies combined? Gonna use your casting spell? That only works on World of Warcraft precious.
(pssst... you are delusional, we understand)
"Only the most fool-hearty fight with a stranger" ?
Considering you're the skitzo who think's we're all the same person, clearly you are flirting with your own unknown assumptions.
And Darling, Sweetie, Little Precious Face... we all know that assuming makes an ass of you and me.
But mainly you. Because you're clearly an irrational individual. Go take your meds. LOL
You know, I love coming to this blog (and Heather's) because of the combination of tongue-in-cheek irreverence, wonderful insights, new information, lush images, and links to modern products that echo the era.
Blog = a personal online journal. This web vehicle was not designed for academics; it was designed for individual expression. As far as I'm concerned, clicking into Lauren's world has always been a wonderful experience because it feels like a visit with her. Also, there is a distinct difference in Lauren's and Heather's writing styles. Have others noticed?
By its very definition - web-log - this vehicle is designed to be linked to as many other like-minded resources as possible. I have a background in marketing, and linkages are one of the main PURPOSES of a blog. Why do you think every template comes with link lists and blogrolls? Linkages are encouraged, and the more links the better. The more quotes the better. A blog provides a quick way for disseminating information and archiving that information in order to connect a community of like-minded souls.
Interested in original research? Go to peer reviewed journals. Want intellectual discussions? Join the gazillion online discussion groups that abound.
But for sheer fun and sharing of information, come to this blog, or Heather's, or mine, or ... well, take your pick.
Here's another thing (for I suspect that Anonymous does not oversees a blog, else she would not have made half her accusations), blogging is time consuming. On top of a full time job and rearing a family or going to school, blogging is WORK. We also have no editors or proofers who serve as safety nets. Above all, we are human. WE ALL MAKE MISTAKEs. If a mistake is made, all the offended person needs to do is politely contact the blogger and ask them to rectify the mistake. Newspapers do this all the time. Though they bury their corrections inside page 2 or 3, the offended party is often satisfied.
I'd like to take this time out to publicly thank Lauren and Heather for making me laugh and think and learn about an era about which I know very little. From personal experience, I know what they do daily takes a lot of work.

PS: Unless your posts receive thousands of hits per day, a blogger makes almost no money off a blog. Thought I'd pass that little bit of knowledge along.
Hi again,
I just thought I'd drop by to give my support to Lauren- whom I think is an incredibly nice person with utmost creativity and talent.
Lauren-and I know I'm not alone in this- I love your blog! Keep up the great writing, yours are the most-interesting posts filled with fun facts, highlights and details about the 18th c.
I especially LOVE that this place is a 'Gossip Guide' where we can chat about wonderful things that interest us all about that specific period in time.
There's always a friendly atmosphere here and it's a place where like-minded people like to come to relax, enjoy and share in things they have a common passion for.
I personally think there's no room here for nastiness, condescending and foul-mouthing- That would be most contrary to what this place is all about.
In the spirit of such a welcoming place, Lauren, I want to thank you for the wonderful work you do on your site and for welcoming each and everyone of us here. You've shown to be incredibly gracious in face of such crudeness. You are one classy lady- Keep up the good work!
Lucy
Late to the fracas, but still wanted to add that whenever books or authors are mentioned or quoted on a blog, it is like free publicity for them which is worth $$$ and generates sales. Whatever pittance a blog generates from its affiliation with Amazon is minuscle in comparision to what the author made when that reader bought their book. In a capitalistic sense, that is like a free lunch in a tanking economy. They should be flattered and grateful that others are talking about their work, not troll about anonymously throwing accusations with no facts to back them up.
I find Lauren's blog delightful and enlightening. If she has not attributed a quote correctly, we are all failable. It would have been polite to contact her directly. That is called civility, which was the first order of business in this era. Any 18th-century writer worth her salt would know this and follow protocol.
