Caption this! La Serenade

Nicolas Lancret, La Sérénade. Oil on canvas, not dated. Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

You often see caption contests for funny candid pictures, so I thought we should try to caption this painting by Lancret.

It is titled La Sérénade, I will go first. Leave your captions in the comments, or just your thoughts about the piece!

"Armand, please...this is embarrassing!"
"Look dear, I have hired him for an hour, just enjoy the music"
"Ugh!"

Marcelle the Minstrel was not only known for his ability to play instruments upside down but also for being able to put the most socially hardy of delicate ladies to sleep.

Gentleman: "I can't believe he just walked right up to us and started playing a love song. If he only realized we are siblings!" Lol

My dearest Athenais, Why were you looking at his junk? First of all he's corpulent. Secondly, his hygiene virtually non-existent; and lastly, he obviously took the color caca du dauphin to the extreme. As your Gay Best Friend, I would never allow such a dalliance with such a vile, common, street performer...Allons-y a l'opera!

"I gave you enough to hire the entire band! What did you spend the rest of the money on, that hideous hat? That flower is bigger than your head!"

Lady: Sir! Do you know three is a crowd in romance?

Minstrel: No, my Lady, but if you hum it, I'll play it.
